Digital Filmmaking & Video Production -

What will you learn at The Art Institute of Dallas?

Graduates of the Digital Film & Video Production program will apply emerging digital production techniques to the changing world of mass communication while maintaining high standards of artistic expression. You will learn to create compelling, effective, and aesthetically pleasing content to be delivered on DVD, digital videotape, broadband, Internet, CD, and other technologies. You will learn to formulate, construct, and deliver digital video, audio, and motion graphics. You will also be equipped with the knowledge, critical thinking, and organizational skills necessary for a creative and productive journey into the industry. The Art Institute of Dallas will prepare you for successful entry-level employment in the field.

Mission:

The mission of the Digital Film & Video Production program is to prepare students for the next generation of digital production and delivery, who can meet the needs of corporate communication, television, e-business, and other media outlets for their existing markets.

Career Opportunities:

• Preproduction -  the planning stage, which includes budgeting, casting, location scouting, designing the set, casting, scriptwriting, and scheduling.

• Production - the actual shooting of digital film.

• Postproduction - the shaping of the digital film into its final form, which takes place in editing rooms, recording studios, and Foley sound stage.
